Hello, my name is Adversity! I've been around since the beginning of time. Some people are defeated by me while others overcome me.

 I'm kind of like a frienemy. I can either be your friend or your enemy, it's up to you to decide, but I can't be both. Everybody will have to encounter me at some point in their lives.

 Sometimes I show up without warning. I'm the type of frienemy that you can't really ignore because I don't just go away on my own. You have to either resist or embrace me.

 I've been known to make people become victim's of their circumstances. I cause depression and make people have nervous breakdowns. I love to make people bow down and give in under pressure. I'm so powerful, that I make people give in to substance abuse and drugs. Because of me people get mad, steal, kill and even commit suicide all for no reason.

 I've been trained to push you until you fight back, it's what I do. I have a reputation of fighting dirty, it's in my DNA. I can also be quite underhanded and unfair at any given moment. But if you engage me I'll teach you how to fight until you get what belongs to you, that's only if you don't quit.

 On the flip side, I heard that there really is a reward if you don't faint. Very few people who embrace me have been known to become Warriors, Generals, and Spiritual Snippers. If you can push through me, you will gain strength and tenacity. In fact God uses me to prove to people that they are more than conquerers. Without me you will never know what you're made of.

I'm very familiar with this man they call Jesus. If people only knew that every time I hear His name and His Words, it weakens my power. And that funny language I hear called prayer, it makes me disappear. What people don't know is, all it takes is consistency and persistence to withstand and overcome me, because consistency backed with persistence knows NO FAILURE!

The funny thing is, most people can't stand my pressure so they end up living defeated. I am Adversity!
